Top Swedish team Timra IK`s equipment manager Mr Bjorn Mannstrom is one of many experienced skate sharpeners who uses ProSharp machines every day. What does a professional like Mannstrom see as the primary advantages of ProShar`s products.

Evgeni Plushenko- ProSharp user since 1998 is aiming for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Plushenko is the 2006 Winter Olympics gold medalist, three-time World Champion, five-time European Champion, a four-time Grand Prix Final gold medalist and a seven-time Russian National Champion.

Peter Forsberg is widely regarded as one of the finest hockey player the world has seen. He and his team-mates have won the Stanley Cup, World Championships and two Olympic gold.

Peter first encountered what has become the ProSharp product line in his hometown of Ornskoldsvik in northern Sweden. Before joining the NHL in 1994 he played for MoDo Hockey who invested in a skate sharpening machine from Eriksson Teknik, the forerunner of ProSharp. Peter, For example, prefers a 13 foot (3,9 m) radius/rocker and a 5/8 inch, (16 mm) hollow.

Hi Finn,

Thanks for following up. The machine is very easy to use. I like the way I can put a skate on and then let it run while I do something else I can see running the skates through while I unpack the hockey bags at night. Last night was the first night that I skated on my skatepal-sharpened skates, and the first time in a while that they were sharpened with a 5/8" wheel. My skates really did seem to glide more easily. The edges seemed less "there" when skating straight (sorry I can't describe that more clearly) but as soon as I leaned a skate over the edge held the ice. I'm looking forward to seeing how the kids like the 5/8" hollow. I didn't lose an edge once last night and my skates felt great crossing over and on tight turns (keep in mind I'm not the tightest of turners). Both edges on both skates were nice and even the full length of the blade. Paul Skelly
